This is Day 10 from the Journal Challenge:
Did you wake up feeling like, “I am NOT happy.”
I’m doing the journal challenge.
I should have joy, right?
I should be happy right now.
But in all honesty, I’m just not happy right now.
Things just aren’t going my way, Heather.
Sis, I want you to admit that, but I don’t want you to unpack and live in that mindset.
It’s safe to say that life has its ups and downs and we won’t always be happy. The Bible assures us that tests and trials will come and that there’s seasons under the sun for everything.
Life can be plain frustrating. For some of us, you feel like you really try to do your best and live for Jesus.
You do all that you know to do and..
Your marriage is still struggling.
You are still single.
You are still without a child.
You have children and you feel overwhelmed.
You wanted more children.
You feel like there’s a war in your spirit every single day.
You feel lonely.
You feel abandoned.
You feel sad.
You have no money.
You have a lot of money and you realize that you’re still not happy.
You are dealing with loss.
You are dealing with grief.
Your guy still won’t propose to you and it’s been years.
No matter what your issue is, I came to tell you that things COULD NOT BE WORKING OUT in your life and STILL FIND JOY.
Happiness is based on a FEELING.
Joy is based on what you KNOW.
So, you feelings can change. Today, I want you to be ANCHORED in this truth:
“And MY God will SUPPLY every need of yours according to HIS riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
God will provide for you.
He will take care of you.
I know it’s hard right now, but it won’t last always.
I know you don’t trust your spouse right now but trust God instead. Make Him the point of your focus and admiration.
I know you’re sick and tired of being single, but let’s lay that down.
Let’s lay your marriage down.
Let’s lay your mindset down.
Let’s lay your single life down.
Let’s lay down your frustrations.
Let’s lay down your desires.
When you lay what you have down to God He RESTORES IT MUCH BETTER THAN YOU EVER CAN.
The word in my heart was CONTENTMENT.
Contentment means being satisfied and at rest where God HAS you, despite what is happening around you. It’s not natural and automatic to be satisfied in hard times. You see, this mindset has to be learned. God teaches us contentment through the ups and downs of changing circumstances. He wants us to learn to be dependent on HIM, not on the ups and downs around us.
So, take a deep breath with me.
Lets develop some JOY in the midst of how we feel.
Let’s CHOOSE to believe the best.
Let’s CHOOSE to walk by faith.
Let’s CHOOSE to NOT complain. (let’s fast from that too for these 21 days!)
Let’s CHOOSE to stand in the faithfulness and goodness of God.
It doesn’t mean that life is perfect. IT simply means that you are content no matter what you face because the GREATER ONE lives on the inside of YOU!
Philippians 4:10-13
“How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
I’ve gotten some questions on what to journal and this is included in the Journal details below but I use my journal to write what the Lord shows me, I use it to keep me accountable (for example, today is day 10), I use it to pour my heart out to Jesus. (Like a diary.)
So, again, today is day 10. Grab your journals and write “Day 10” Tomorrow is Day 11 and so on. If this is your first day joining the challenge, for you — it’s day 1. If you haven’t grabbed your journal or a book to read for the month — find one! If you need some help, I have journals and books HERE. I will rush ship everything to you!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the details of the Journal challenge, check it out HERE.
I shared a course that I recorded on “Overcoming Insecurities” so if you are finding that rejection, abandonment and your past is stopping you from being happy, married, joyful, single or whatever else – check it out HERE.
ALSO, every week, I will be giving you a NEW scripture to meditate on for the week. The goal is to meditate on it daily AND memorize it. Even if you’ve already memorized the scripture — then meditate on it. Just roll it over in your mind, think about it, focus on it, break it down and study it in a brand new way.
I hope it’s going well! We will have a new one on Monday!
WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THIS UPCOMING WEDNESDAY (1/15).
Let’s do a “NO SWEETS” day! This doesn’t include fruits. Buttt it does include the donuts, cookies, cakes, candy and other white sugars!
Every time you’re tempted to grab sweets, grab an apple or fruits!
Here’s this week’s scripture to memorize:
Romans 12:2
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Last week’s scripture is:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT Version)
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all that you do and He will show you which path to take.”
Just a few things!
– I will be sending out a DAILY email of encouragement for the next 21 days and we will wrap with my FREE monthly study on January 23rd, 2020 at 9pm EST LIVE on my Youtube Channel. ( I will also be doing a Live Q & A!)
– There’s no “set” time to when I will send out the daily email. I will send it out as the Holy Spirit places it on my heart. It may be 8am EST. Or, 8pm EST. Don’t worry, it’s coming! Also, make sure you take this email out of your junk mail if it went there!
– Be sure to join the Facebook Group for accountability! You can join the group HERE. If the link isn’t pulling up for you for some reason, just search “Pinky Promise Sisterhood” on Facebook.
Remember, it’s easy to start. The goal here is to FINISH. You have 24 hours in ONE day. Give 1% of your day to God for the next 21 days. I can ASSURE you that it will CHANGE your life. AND stop beating yourself up if you miss a day or don’t spend the full hour with God. Remember, this is a relationship with God — not a classroom with rules. Enjoy your Heavenly Father.
After the 21 days, you will find yourself NATURALLY going to the Lord’s presence for 1:1 time.
Also, I am doing a giveaway on my Facebook /MrsHeatherLindsey & IG @heatherllove for the 2020 Pinky Promise Conference! Check it out!
