This is Day 19 from the Journal Challenge:
Wait, how are we on day 19 already?! I cannot believe the challenge is almost officially over.
This challenge was geared to renew your mind and SET your mind for the rest of the year. I pray that you CONTINUE to make time for the Lord every single day. I don’t know about you, but I have been challenged throughout this challenge in a way I cannot explain. It’s been an honor to rock with ya’ll for the past 19 days.
The word from the Lord today is: “My yoke is easy and My burden is LIGHT”
This comes from Matthew 11:28-30
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Following Jesus doesn’t make every problem in your life go away. At times, it seems like you have even more problems. lol But don’t worry, that’s just an illusion because heaven is our home and not earth. Jesus doesn’t say that will no longer have burdens if you YOKE yourself with Him. He said their weight would decrease. If you see Jesus’s life, you can see that He too went through hard times, was beaten and put on a cross for our sins.
Let me give you an example of taking the yoke of the Lord.
Imagine if I am walking through the airport with three super heavy (100 pound) suitcases with no wheels. One would probably look at me and think “Wow, the baby is struggling.” 🙂 I would be DRAGGING those suitcases, exhausted tired and probably sweaty.
When we give our lives to Jesus and we take on HIS yoke, He gives us wheels. So now, I can roll those 3 suitcases through the airport with ease.
Did my circumstance change?
Nah. I still have the suitcases.
But God can put some wheels on your burdens so you can deal with them easier.
I recall a time in my life where my boss was evil to me. I wanted to “clapback” because I was sick of it. I heard the Lord say these words to me and I will never forget them:
“Heather, do it for me. Don’t do it for him.”
Whoa.
You see, that’s wheels. I no longer serve my boss as onto my boss because he was straight crazy. I serve as onto the Lord.
So, apply these wheels to every area of your life:
In your marriage, do it for Jesus.
In your family, do it for Jesus.
In your prayer time, do it for Jesus.
In your working out, do it for Jesus.
In your eating healthy, do it for Jesus.
In your friendships, do it for Jesus.
In your mindset, do it for Jesus.
In your job, do it for Jesus.
I’m not saying that you don’t have boundaries because we should but let the Holy Spirit lead you in those boundaries.
So, if you’re feeling weary, come to the Lord. He longs to take your heavy burden and replace it with some suitcases that aren’t lighter, but just easier to move.
And make sure you get up and go to church today. There’s a word for you when you get to the place where God wants you to be.
So, again, today is day 19. Grab your journals and write “Day 19 ” Tomorrow is Day 20 and so on. If this is your first day joining the challenge, for you — it’s day 1. If you haven’t grabbed your journal or a book to read for the month — find one! If you need some help, I have journals and books HERE. I will rush ship everything to you!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the details of the Journal challenge, check it out HERE. I’ve also posted ALL of the previous days on my blog as well. Check out the details there.
I shared a course that I recorded on “Overcoming Insecurities” so if you are finding that rejection, abandonment and your past is stopping you from being happy, married, joyful, single or whatever else – check it out HERE.
ALSO, every week, I will be giving you a NEW scripture to meditate on for the week. The goal is to meditate on it daily AND memorize it. Even if you’ve already memorized the scripture — then meditate on it. Just roll it over in your mind, think about it, focus on it, break it down and study it in a brand new way.
I hope it’s going well! We will have a new one on Monday!
WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGE FOR NEXT WEEK!
We are eating at the house! No spending money on food/coffee/etc! We are PLANNING ahead! Meal prepping and staying focused!
The scripture for this week!

Last week’s scripture to memorize:

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”
The first’s week’s sripture is:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT Version)
