This is Day 4 from the Journal Challenge:
Oh sister, what have you been worried and stressed about?
Your living situation?
Debt?
Your marriage?
Your single life and the thought of being single forever?
Your family problems?
Your children?
Your health?
Your mindset?
Sex outside of marriage?
The bondage of sin?
Pornography?
It’s safe to say that we will run ourselves crazy carrying the care of this world. God did not design for you to carry these things. He longs for you to trust Him with the details of your life. It’s quite hard for Him to take these details when you withhold certain areas of your life to Him. Does God have your whole life or just parts of it?
The Lord really pressed on my heart that we are dealing with WORRY.
What does the Bible say about worry?
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”
Matthew 6:25
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me”.
John 14:1
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
John 14:27
Whenever I get tempted to worry about something, I use my sword of the spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD. I speak BACK to those thoughts with the above scriptures or ones like it. I refuse to let worry ruin my life.
Worrying about your life won’t add to it.
Worrying affects your physical body.
Worrying can make you sick.
Worrying steals your focus.
Worrying distracts you from trusting God.
Worrying shows that you place more hope in yourself than the Lord.
Worrying ages you.
I can go on and on about the destruction of worry. You may still feel like, HEATHER, how do I cast my care on God? How do I trust Him?
Start by surrendering yourself and that area to Him. Surrender EVERY area to Him. Remember we walk by FAITH and not by sight.
Say this with me, “Lord, by faith, I surrender myself and every area of my life to you, including ______________. I believe that when I pray, you hear me. I repent of my sins, including sinning against You, Lord. James 1:5 tells me that if I lack wisdom to ask You and YOU will show me what to do. I am asking you now in Jesus name to show me what to do in this situation. In Jesus name, Amen.”
Ok, now, grab your journal and write what the Lord shows you to do.
I’ve gotten some questions on what to journal and this is included in the Journal details below but I use my journal to write what the Lord shows me, I use it to keep me accountable (for example, today is day 4), I use it to pour my heart out to Jesus. (like a diary)
So, again, today is day 4. Grab your journals and write “Day 4” Tomorrow is Day 5 and so on. If this is your first day joining the challenge, for you — it’s day 1. If you haven’t grabbed your journal or a book to read for the month — find one! If you need some help, I have journals and books HERE. I will rush ship everything to you!
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the details of the Journal challenge, check it out HERE.
ALSO, every week, I will be giving you a NEW scripture to meditate on for the week. The goal is to meditate on it daily AND memorize it. Even if you’ve already memorized the scripture — then meditate on it. Just roll it over in your mind, think about it, focus on it, break it down and study it in a brand new way.
I hope it’s going well! We will have a new one on Monday!
WE HAVE A NEW CHALLENGE FOR THIS UPCOMING WEDNESDAY (1/8).
Let’s do a “No Social Media Day.” That’s right. 24 hours. Including me, I won’t be posting either.
Every time you’re tempted to grab your phone and go on social media, open up that bible app. Listen to a sermon. I will be sending reminders before then. 🙂
This week’s scripture is:
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT Version)
“Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all that you do and He will show you which path to take.”
Just a few things!
– I will be sending out a DAILY email of encouragement for the next 21 days and we will wrap with my FREE monthly study on January 23rd, 2020 at 9pm EST LIVE on my Youtube Channel. ( I will also be doing a Live Q & A!)
– There’s no “set” time to when I will send out the daily email. I will send it out as the Holy Spirit places it on my heart. It may be 8am EST. Or, 8pm EST. Don’t worry, it’s coming! Also, make sure you take this email out of your junk mail if it went there!
– Be sure to join the Facebook Group for accountability! You can join the group HERE. If the link isn’t pulling up for you for some reason, just search “Pinky Promise Sisterhood” on Facebook.
Remember, it’s easy to start. The goal here is to FINISH. You have 24 hours in ONE day. Give 1% of your day to God for the next 21 days. I can ASSURE you that it will CHANGE your life.
After the 21 days, you will find yourself NATURALLY going to the Lord’s presence for 1:1 time.
God loves you like crazy,
Love always,
Heather Lindsey
P.S.Be sure to tell your friends to sign up! Invite at least ONE friend to do this with you! It’s such much better when you’re doing it TOGETHER!
